Description
Raoul is a character from the mobile game *Tales of Luminaria*, which inspired the anime *Tales of Luminaria: The Fateful Crossroad*. The anime focuses on characters such as Leo Fourcade, Celia Arvier, and Hugo Simon during the Third Lunne Battle, but Raoul does not appear in its character credits. Within the game, he belongs to the Adventurers faction, a neutral group investigating Primordial Beasts.

As a self-proclaimed archaeologist, Raoul specializes in ruins and demonstrates extensive knowledge of ancient structures and traps, notably identifying non-lethal mechanisms in the Mirrormetal Ruins. Despite his expertise, others often question his legitimacy, labeling him a grave robber or thief due to his lockpicking skills. His appearance features blue eyes and short tuscany-brown-orange hair with sideburns. He wears a green shirt, long beige coat, blue poncho, black pants, and brown boots, accessorized with a brown hat, stopwatch, telescope on his belt, and a book attached to his left thigh.

Raoul exhibits slight sarcasm and earnestness, frequently acting as the straight man to others' antics. He displays cleverness, sharp observational skills, and dedication to his work, though his backstory and motivations remain deliberately vague, hinting at undisclosed depths. In 999 Y.C., he encounters Ana-Maria Marschner and Charles near Ludirome Forestville ruins. After initial conflicts, they travel together, later joining Edouard Rouquier and Lydie Delacroix. The group meets the Primordial Beast Aglaya and embarks on Lydie’s quest to uncover truths about these beings. Raoul participates in rescuing a child from a Howline Duke in Anthwan Forest, aids in protecting camps near Bluefang Plains, subdues a Demonigrenze in the Great Cavern, and assists in miner rescues during a Norva Mines tremor.

In combat, Raoul wields a spear—unconventional for an archaeologist—using slams, spins, and low sweeps. His defensive stance spins the spear to create a wind barrier blocking damage and status effects, later upgraded to shield allies behind him. His Counter Icon move enables backward dodges followed by thrusts or diagonal slashes. Relationships include contentious dynamics with Charles, who distrusts him, and Ana-Maria, who questions his profession. He collaborates with Edouard and Lydie, contributing archaeological insights to their missions.

Raoul’s character development occurs exclusively in *Tales of Luminaria*. The game concluded service in July 2022 without completing all story episodes, and he does not appear in the anime adaptation, spin-offs, or other media.
