Description
Earth is a character from the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. He is one of the six Ignis, a race of highly advanced artificial intelligences, each aligned with a specific Attribute. Earth represents the EARTH Attribute and is identified by the control code IGN002. His data was originally created from the mind of a human known as Spectre.

In terms of his digital appearance, Earth is a small humanoid figure. His body is primarily orange with brown markings that give the impression of cracked earth or plates covering his form. He has square blue eyes, and his build is blockier, with a square head and prominent shoulders compared to his fellow Ignis. He has the ability to form a physical avatar within the virtual reality of LINK VRAINS, often using existing plant material as a base for this form.

Earth is characterized by a serious, honest, and deeply logical personality. He speaks in short sentences, values straightforward answers, and admits to having poor social skills. While he appears stoic and unemotional most of the time, this demeanor changes regarding one specific person: the WATER Ignis, Aqua. Earth harbors strong feelings for her and is fiercely protective. This devotion defines his core motivation. Aqua entrusts him with her monster G Golem Crystal Heart, and Earth bases his entire dueling strategy on shielding this card from harm, symbolizing his desire to protect her above all else. He even declares that his stance on the central conflict between humans and Ignis would be decided by whatever side Aqua chooses.

Initially, Earth adopts a neutral position on whether Ignis should coexist with or oppose humanity. After the destruction of their home world, the Cyberse, Earth goes into hiding. His primary motivation is to find Aqua and decide his path. To help make this decision, he contacts the protagonist, Yusaku Fujiki and his partner Ignis, Ai, challenging Yusaku to a Duel to personally verify the true nature of humanity.

Throughout his story, Earth demonstrates notable abilities beyond dueling. He is physically the strongest of all the Ignis, capable of wrenching apart a powerful program used to imprison Aqua. He can scan areas within LINK VRAINS and summon a unique Skill called Stalactite Spear during Duels. His dueling style, using his G Golem deck, revolves around protecting the card Aqua gave him and reflects his bond with her.

His key relationships, besides his devotion to Aqua, include a jealous protectiveness that leads him to warn Ai away from her. Unlike the other Ignis, Earth does not seek out his human Origin, Spectre, because they are opposed factions, with Spectre being a member of the Knights of Hanoi.

Earth develops from a neutral observer into a tragic figure forced to take action. He escapes with Aqua after freeing her and fights to protect her from a bounty hunter, the duelist Gore. Despite his best efforts, Earth is captured by Gore and handed over to SOL Technologies. In his final moments, his stoic nature shatters. He desperately begs for his life, crying out that he is a living being with free will as his data is dissected. His memories of Aqua fade as he is killed, and the remaining fragments of his data are eventually absorbed by the antagonist Bohman.
