Kanon Kōgami is a character from the game Battle Girl High School. She is a seventeen-year-old second-year high school student who originally attends the prestigious Kanadenomiya Girls Academy before transferring to Shinjuku Minami, also known as the Sacred Tree Girls' Academy, as an exchange student. She is one half of the renowned idol unit f*f, which stands for fortissimo, alongside her partner and best friend, Shiho Kunieda.

In terms of appearance, Kanon has long blonde hair which she typically wears in twin tails tied with black ribbons, and bright blue, slightly upward-slanting eyes that often carry a confident expression. Her signature star dress, known as Flora, is predominantly yellow and black, representing her designated flower, the hollyhock. Her combat style favors ranged attacks, and she is most proficient with dual-wielded pistols or twin barrettes.

Kanon possesses a quintessential tsundere personality, characterized by her proud, strong-willed, and often prickly demeanor. She can come across as haughty and lacking initial respect for most people, but this attitude is a front that eventually softens as she lets others in. Beneath her tough exterior lies a deeply caring and loyal individual who is fiercely protective of those she loves. Despite her claims of being indifferent, she is actually very sentimental and treasures her memories and relationships greatly. Her pride and sometime abrasive speech, especially directed toward the player character, clash endearingly with her genuine affection for cute things, notably a hidden fondness for cats.

Alongside her idol talents, Kanon has a unique and surprising hobby for a pop star: she is a military enthusiast. She has a keen interest in military gear and equipment, with a military watch being a favorite item she appreciates as a gift. Kanon's central role in the story is inextricably linked to Shiho Kunieda. Their relationship is the core of her character development; she has stated that without Shiho, she would not be the person she is today. Initially, she is distrustful of the Star Guardians at the Sacred Tree Academy. She views them with skepticism and is notably critical, leading to conflict with other students like Urara Hasumi before they eventually resolve their differences. Her arc takes a dramatic turn when Shiho is consumed by her own inner darkness. In a desperate act to save her beloved friend, Kanon sacrifices her own life. This selfless act is the catalyst for her transformation; she is resurrected by the power of the Sacred Tree, and following this event, she formally becomes a full-fledged Star Guardian and transfers to the academy to stay by Shiho's side.

As a fighter, Kanon is exceptionally agile and powerful, a testament to her natural athleticism and professional dance training. In battle, her notable abilities include her mastery of dual-wielded guns to unleash fast and precise long-range attacks on the Irousu, the series antagonists. She also has access to powerful special moves, one of which is known as Elegant Brilliance, a skill that combines sword techniques with her gunplay. Throughout the narrative, her skills and resolve are tested, including situations where she overexerts herself to protect her allies and must make difficult tactical retreats.
