Description
David, known as the Colonel, commanded the garrison at the Bogotá Orbital Elevator after enlisting in the Peacebuilding Forces. He married Jessica, a Project Elysion researcher, and they had a daughter, Charlotte. His family survived Artemis's initial attacks on humanity, enduring refugee camps until 2051, when David believed Jessica and Charlotte were killed in an Education Institution raid, igniting his profound hatred for the cultists.
By 2062, Colonel David led the Peacebuilding Forces' special operations unit. His team discovered the amnesiac Empress reactivated within their network. He informed her of their mission to destroy the Orbital Elevator before Artemis could complete it, stressing the catastrophic threat of lunar mechanized forces descending to Earth. Outwardly pragmatic and prioritizing mission success over sentiment, he frequently clashed with the Empress's focus on protecting civilians during their mission.
David's perspective shattered when the Education Institution deployed his brainwashed, modified daughter, Charlotte, now a pseudo-Hemiteos Unit, to attack the Empress. He desperately pleaded for Charlotte's life during the confrontation, learning Jessica had also undergone failed Hemiteos conversion. Despite possessing a reconditioning pod Jessica left to reverse Charlotte's conditioning, he chose to use it to restore the Empress's full combat power instead. He defended the laboratory as a final line when Charlotte breached the Peacebuilding Forces' perimeter. Shielding her from falling debris, Charlotte stabbed him, but his self-sacrifice broke her brainwashing.
Briefly reunited, the Colonel joined the assault on the Orbital Elevator, leaving Charlotte behind to ensure her safety. Lunatic, Artemis's avatar, disabled his vehicle, revealing the Elevator's purpose was to bombard Earth with lunar fragments. Surrounded by unmanned forces, David sustained a fatal torso wound attempting to reach Charlotte as she arrived to rescue him. To divert her from his impending death, he urgently requested she retrieve a weapon. Viewing a photograph of his family one last time, he committed suicide.
