TV-Series
Description
Akane Senri serves as president of her high school's Occult Research Society, earning the moniker "School Witch" for her mysterious reputation and perceived power to manifest desires or grudges – an influence partly derived from her political connections and wealth. She presents as introverted and avoids crowds, often labeled a shut-in, while exhibiting a cynical, pragmatic nature that leads her to dismiss supernatural claims despite leading the occult club. She prioritizes her aptitude for computing and video games over club activities.

Born an orphan, Akane resided at the Martel-funded Enishi House orphanage. She was nonverbal until approximately age ten. During childhood, she wandered into a forest amid a battle between the organizations Gaia and Guardian. Kotarou Tennouji rescued her from falling out of a tree while fending off a familiar, sustaining near-fatal injuries. This event resulted in Gaia adopting her under Sakura Kashima's care. Akane became a candidate to inherit transcribed memories of past Holy Women through a process called Transcription. This involves inheriting memories and powers from successive Holy Women who lacked a strong sense of self, allowing their consciousness to imprint upon her. The accumulated memories include traumatic experiences of persecution, self-doubt, and violent ends, contributing to Akane's emotional fragility.

Within Gaia, Akane rises to a Holy Woman candidate leadership position following Sakura Kashima's death. She presides over disciples who sing the "Song of Destruction" to trigger global natural disasters, aiming to enact "Salvation" – humanity's eradication to restore Earth. She employs familiars for combat and reconnaissance, demonstrating strategic command during conflicts with Guardian. Her relationship with Kotarou evolves from club interactions to deep reliance; she recruits him as her bodyguard after the occult club dissolves. Their bond intensifies as she grapples with her role in Gaia's plans and the psychological toll of the inherited memories. She experiences periods of emotional breakdown, particularly after Sakura's death, clinging to Kotarou for support.

In the crossover series "Kaginado," Akane appears in a stylized, comedic format alongside characters from other Key franchises. Her role consists of cameos reflecting her original traits: depicted with the occult club in space-themed segments and participating in brief school-life gags, such as forming a "Neo Kendo Club."

Her background includes a distant father residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She later adopts the surname Kashima in the fan disc "Harvest festa!". A notable alternate scenario involves an "Oppai Ending," where she becomes queen of an altered world while retaining awareness of its manipulation.
