During a covert mission to Alegranza, Yun partners with Wald Ren to infiltrate an underwater Zeon base and activate nuclear warheads. While Wald handles the missile systems, Yun scouts the facility, uncovering the hidden RX-78-2 Gundam behind a shrouded enclosure. The Gundam—piloted by Amuro Ray—abruptly awakens, its beam saber spearing Yun’s cockpit before he can retaliate. His sudden demise underscores the unpredictable brutality of warfare, cutting short his role in the operation without further elaboration on his background or aspirations.
