Description
Job John served as a crew member aboard the Federation warship White Base during the One Year War. Wearing a Federation uniform but likely originating as a civilian from Side 7, he never underwent mobile suit pilot training like cadets Hayato Kobayashi or Ryu Jose.

His versatile duties encompassed multiple support roles. He piloted the Gunperry transport during a ceasefire with Garma Zabi to evacuate civilians near Luna II. He also operated hangar controls, facilitated mobile suit launches such as Sayla Mass's sortie, manned combat turrets, and guarded against security threats including Zeon spies. Following Ramba Ral's death, he briefly controlled the RX-75-4 Guntank.

Emotionally steadier than peers like Amuro Ray, he occasionally demonstrated lapses in situational awareness. Surviving White Base's deployment through Jaburo, evidence suggests he later accompanied the crew into space.

By U.C. 0095, decades post-war, he worked at a mobile suit factory near Lhasa, Tibet. There, he recounted White Base's history to Kikka, stressing Amuro Ray's critical impact and the crew's perseverance. He harbored guilt over Ryu Jose's death, attributing it to his own choice permitting the injured Ryu to fly a Core Fighter. During this period, Omur Fang urged him to join the Strategic Naval Research Institute (SNRI) to refine his engineering skills.

Rising to senior engineer at SNRI by U.C. 0120, he led the Formula 90 project developing the Federation's next-generation Gundam F90 mobile suit. He monitored the F90's test runs aboard the Admiral Tianem, maintaining data acquisition focus even after Unit 2's capture by unknown forces.
