Movie
Description
Sleggar Law is a veteran Earth Federation Forces pilot assigned to the *White Base* during the One Year War. He exhibits a brash, confident, and carefree personality, frequently displaying flirtatious behavior toward female crew members such as Mirai Yashima and Sayla Mass. Despite this, he demonstrates a protective nature, notably shielding Mirai from perceived mistreatment by her fiancé, Cameron Bloom. His brutally honest and cheerful demeanor sometimes clashes with authority figures, yet he deeply cares for younger pilots, striving to share his experience to aid their survival in combat.

Stationed aboard the *White Base* after the defense of Jaburo, as depicted in *Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island*, Sleggar pilots a custom GM featuring a personal "S" with a sword emblem. When Amuro Ray vanishes during a mission to Alegranza Island, Sleggar defies higher command orders to organize a rescue. He recruits Kai Shiden, Hayato Kobayashi, Job John, and Sayla Mass for the operation. Utilizing a Gunperry transport with his GM attached to Sayla's Core Booster, he leads the team to the island. During the ensuing battle against Zeon's Southern Cross Corps, his GM suffers critical damage after a crash landing severs its head, leaving him unable to fight further, highlighting his initiative for comrades despite risks.

Sleggar's broader history includes leading the "Sleggar Platoon" during the Jaburo defense, operating GM units alongside members Etur Börbache, Michael Rodrigo, and Wong Chang, all killed by Operation Odessa's conclusion. At the Battle of Solomon, he pilots a Core Booster alongside Amuro Ray to intercept the MA-08 Big Zam. In depictions like the *Encounters in Space* movie and *The Origin*, he sacrifices himself by ramming his aircraft into the Big Zam, creating an opening for Amuro to destroy it, a defining act underscoring his commitment to comrades and the Federation cause.

Alternative outcomes exist in non-canonical media; in "Gihren's Greed," should Sleggar survive the war, he resurfaces seven years later with the anti-Earth Federation group AEUG. He retains his carefree personality and wears a blue Zeta Gundam-era pilot suit, his personal color, reflecting potential continued dedication to fighting Federation corruption alongside former *White Base* crewmates.

Sleggar is consistently recognized as an ace pilot and brilliant gunner, frequently operating the G-Fighter or *White Base*'s main gun. His legacy extends beyond his actions, with *Super Dimension Fortress Macross* director Noburo Ishiguro citing Roy Focker as a spiritual successor inspired by Sleggar's character.
