Description
Fraw Bow resided on Side 7 as a childhood friend and classmate of Amuro Ray. She lived with her mother and grandfather, displaying a protective nature by ensuring Amuro followed evacuation orders during the Zeon assault on their colony. This attack claimed her entire family. After Side 7's destruction, she evacuated aboard the Earth Federation vessel *White Base* with Amuro and other civilians. Facing a critical shortage of surviving military personnel, she stepped into the role of communications operator and became the primary caregiver for three orphaned children: Katz Hawin, Letz Cofan, and Kikka Kitamoto.
Her relationship with Amuro shifted significantly during the One Year War. Initially marked by deep concern for him, they gradually grew apart as he immersed himself in his Gundam pilot duties and his interactions with individuals like Matilda Ajan and Lalah Sune. During this time, she formed an emotional connection with fellow *White Base* crew member Hayato Kobayashi, who shared his insecurities with her. She was present as part of the *White Base* crew during the mission to investigate Zeon remnants on Alegranza Island depicted in *Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island*, joining the crew's response when Katz, Letz, Kikka, and Haro barricaded themselves in the ship's bathroom upon learning Amuro was stranded.
After the One Year War, she married Hayato Kobayashi, adopted Katz, Letz, and Kikka, and took the surname Kobayashi. During the Gryps Conflict (U.C. 0087), shown in *Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam*, she visited Amuro Ray—who was under Federation surveillance—while six months pregnant. She encouraged him to find purpose and facilitated Katz's decision to join Amuro and the anti-Titans group AEUG. Tragedy struck later when Hayato perished during the Colony Drop on Dublin, leaving her widowed to raise the children alone. By U.C. 0094, as depicted in *Mobile Suit Gundam Pulitzer -Amuro Ray Beyond the Aurora-*, she lived on Earth with Kikka. She declined an invitation to a Federation memorial ceremony declaring Amuro deceased. In a conversation with Kikka, who sought to humanize Amuro in a book, she reminisced about his domestic ineptitude and provided Kikka with a letter from the late Hayato and contact information for Kai Shiden to aid her research.
Her personality evolved from a concerned teenage friend into a reliable, deeply maternal figure. The loss of her family and responsibilities aboard the *White Base* fostered her development into a dedicated caretaker focused on others' well-being, especially the younger crew members and orphans under her protection. Her German heritage and the likely origin of her name from the German honorific "Frau" have been noted.
