Description
Nidvolk is a female dragon who appears as a supporting antagonist in Dances with the Dragons. She is an ancient, likely millennium-old dragon driven by a singular motivation: vengeance against the jushikiists Gayus and Gigina, who killed her mate before the story begins. Her personality is defined by this consuming desire for retribution, and she becomes particularly exasperated when the protagonists cannot even remember her mate's name, a detail that fuels her fury. She operates with formidable combat ability, fitting the archetype of a dark action girl, and possesses dragon-specific powers that include shape-shifting and gravity manipulation. In the narrative, she enters a three-way conflict, joining the fight between Gayus, Gigina, and the Liwe Raqi siblings, which creates a shifting battlefield where her quest for revenge intersects with larger political and magical struggles. Her character does not undergo significant development over the course of the story; her role remains that of a vengeful, driven adversary. Physically, she appears as an adult woman with very long black hair and green eyes, though her true draconic form remains unseen in much of the screen time. Her key relationship is the deceased mate whose name she fights to avenge, and her interactions with the protagonists are marked by hostility and a relentless pursuit of justice on behalf of her lost partner.
