Description
Jun Fuyumi is a sixteen-year-old idol affiliated with 315 Production, where he performs as the keyboardist and composer for the high school pop-rock unit High×Joker, a group he joins alongside his bandmates Hayato Akiyama, Natsuki Sakaki, Haruna Wakazato, and Shiki Iseya. Hailing from Yamanashi prefecture, he stands at 158 centimeters tall and has a birthday on January 2nd, making him a Capricorn. His quiet, studious appearance, characterized by his black hair and brown eyes, belies a sharp and forthright personality.

Jun is defined by his serious, logical, and often strict demeanor, serving as the pragmatic voice of reason within High×Joker. He prides himself on hard work and perseverance, and he has little tolerance for laziness or half-hearted efforts, frequently having to remind his more easygoing unit members, Shiki and Haruna, to focus on their studies and responsibilities. Despite his composed exterior, Jun is easily embarrassed and has a short temper, especially when his friends point out his softer side or his growth as a person. He is a classic tsundere character, often downplaying his own enjoyment of idol activities and deflecting praise, even as he becomes more invested in his work.

His background as a piano prodigy is central to his character. From a young age, Jun was recognized for his extraordinary talent on the piano, which he learned from his mother. However, a specific incident in which he injured his hand led to a significant loss of enthusiasm and a period of disengagement from music and other activities. This injury left him disillusioned and hesitant to try new things, preferring to avoid anything he deemed bothersome. It is this context that makes his path to becoming an idol a crucial turning point. He initially joins his high school’s Light Music Club not out of passion, but reluctantly, at the persistent invitation of his bandmate Hayato, and primarily to support his socially anxious childhood friend, Natsuki Sakaki. Jun sees Natsuki as someone he has always had to guide and protect, and he hopes that becoming an idol will help Natsuki come out of his shell.

Jun’s motivation for continuing as an idol is rooted in a desire to find something he can be truly absorbed in, a pursuit he can dedicate himself to completely. Although he was initially disinterested and dismissive of the idea, he hates doing things half-heartedly and finds himself gradually drawn into the world of performance. A significant part of his development involves overcoming his past disillusionment. Forced out of his comfort zone by his unit members, especially Hayato, he confronts his withdrawn tendencies and slowly becomes more open to taking risks and embracing new challenges. Natsuki, in particular, often remarks on how much Jun has changed, expressing that he likes this "new Jun" who finds genuine appreciation in his work as an idol rather than viewing it as a burden.

Jun’s key relationships heavily influence his journey. His dynamic with Natsuki is the most significant, marked by a deep-seated sense of responsibility and a protective instinct. While he wants Natsuki to grow more independent, their bond is unshakeable. In contrast, his interactions with the energetic and unconventional Shiki Iseya are often contentious; Jun typically shoots down Shiki's outlandish ideas, only to be reluctantly swept up in them anyway. He has a more amicable but still disciplined relationship with Haruna, whom he looks after, and a respectful one with Hayato, whose earnestness he appreciates even if he finds it overbearing. Outside of his unit, hints are given of a strained relationship with his father, who is strict and disapproves of his idol activities, leading Jun to react negatively whenever the topic arises.

As an idol, Jun’s notable abilities lie in his profound musical talent. He is a highly skilled composer and pianist, though he adapts to High×Joker’s pop-rock style by playing the keyboard. His academic prowess is also a key asset, making him a reliable tutor for his less studious bandmates. Ultimately, Jun Fuyumi evolves from a disengaged young man hindered by past setbacks into a more engaged, dedicated idol who learns to value teamwork and embrace new experiences, all while retaining his role as the unit's pragmatic, grounded anchor.
