Description
Minori Watanabe is a former flower shop manager who becomes a physical‑type idol as a member of the unit Beit. Before entering the idol world, he ran a flower shop, and his deep‑seated love for idols was sparked by his uncle’s collection of idol goods. He is a longtime devoted fan, particularly of Ryuuguu Komachi and Jupiter, and he decided to become an idol himself in order to fully understand what makes idols so captivating. On the surface, Minori presents himself as calm, friendly, and approachable, often using floral metaphors when he talks about other people. However, this gentle exterior belies a past as a delinquent who was once known as the Oni of Ibaraki; he can still scold or threaten someone with a level‑headed stare when the situation calls for it. His motivation for idol work is rooted in curiosity and admiration: he wants to experience the true charm of idols from the inside rather than merely observing as a fan. Within the story, Minori serves as the knowledgeable, grounding presence in Beit, frequently sharing his extensive fan expertise with his unit‑mates Kyoji and Pierre and teaching them how to best please their audience. His key relationships are with those two members: he finds Kyoji’s serious, earnest nature amusing and appreciates Pierre’s honest, innocent personality, and he sometimes makes flower crowns for Pierre. Over the course of his development, Minori reconciles his rough past with his gentle present, using his experience as a florist and his years of idol fandom to support his group while growing more confident as a performer. Notable abilities include his deep, intricate knowledge of idol culture, his skill with flowers and floral arrangements, a knack for finding shortcuts while driving, and a collection of hand creams.
