Description
Hendrickson is a character from The Seven Deadly Sins who begins as a Great Holy Knight of the Kingdom of Liones before his story takes him through villainy and ultimately to a path of redemption. Standing 182 centimeters tall and weighing 72 kilograms, he is a mature man with short silver hair, a neatly kept beard, and turquoise eyes, born on October 31. In his youth, he was known to be bright, sociable, gentle, and thoughtful, but his personality darkens significantly for a period before he eventually returns to his more caring nature.

Hendrickson's background is rooted in his upbringing among the Druids of Istar, a clan that serves the Goddesses. His childhood was traumatic, as he was forced to guard corpses until they decayed into skeletons, a duty that instilled in him a deep dread of death and darkness. This fear is what awakened his innate magical ability, Acid, which allows him to corrode anything it touches. Ironically, this power led to him being branded a cursed child and a coward by his own village, which ultimately drove him away.

Seeking a new purpose, Hendrickson joined the Holy Knights of Liones, where he forged a powerful and unbreakable bond with his lifelong comrade, Dreyfus. His doubts about the necessity of Holy Knights during times of peace quietly lingered, a skepticism rooted in his traumatic childhood. The turning point in his life came during an expedition to the ruins of Danafor, where the demon Fraudrin attempted to possess Dreyfus. Dreyfus resisted, so Fraudrin instead preyed on Hendrickson's more vulnerable resolve. While he was not fully possessed, the demonic influence left a lasting corruption, preying on his fear of death and his doubts about peace, twisting his mind.

Under this lingering influence, Hendrickson conspired to assassinate Zaratras, the Great Holy Knight leader and Dreyfus's brother, framing the Seven Deadly Sins for the crime. This act of betrayal hardened him, making him cold and obsessed with the idea that peace makes people weak. His primary motivation became to incite a new Holy War, believing that only conflict could validate the existence of the Holy Knights and restore glory to Britannia. To this end, he began conducting secret experiments with demonic power, harvesting the blood of a Red Demon to create a New Generation of Holy Knights augmented by dark magic. He eventually infused himself with demonic essence, unlocking two powerful hybrid forms. The first was a rejuvenated, crimson-hued state with black sigils and rapid regeneration. The second, more powerful form was achieved by injecting himself with the blood of a Gray Demon, transforming him into a winged, horned ash-gray monster with immense power. In this state, his combat class rises from 2,650 to an formidable 5,800. This form grants him abilities such as Hellblaze, which controls black fire, and techniques like Dark Snow, which instantly kills anything it touches, and Dark Nebula, a destructive ring of darkness.

As a pivotal foe, Hendrickson succeeds in his plan to break the seal on the Ten Commandments, unleashing the Demon Clan. However, his demonic powers are almost entirely stripped from him by a trap set by the Goddess clan during the resurrection ritual. Defeated and reverted to his human state, the corrupting influence on his mind lifts, and a wave of guilt and clarity washes over him. His motivations shift entirely towards atonement. He seeks to make amends by aiding Liones against the very Commandments he unleashed, using his deep knowledge of demonic physiology to heal his former enemies, such as Gilthunder, and to strategize against the demon threat. A key relationship is his fractured bond with Dreyfus, who was later possessed by Fraudrin; a significant part of his redemption arc involves working to free his old friend from the demon's grip. He also uses his Druid magic, specifically the Purge ability, to expel the archangel Ludociel from Princess Margaret's body, an act that required him to feign allegiance to the goddess.

Following the Holy War, having rejected the title of Grand Holy Knight, Hendrickson retires from active knighthood. He dedicates himself fully to healing, using his extensive knowledge of medicine and even his dark experience with demonic essences to help others, establishing a medical clinic or apothecary in Liones. His full abilities include his inherent magic, Acid, which can be deployed as Acid Down to corrode a wide area or Acid Tower to trap an enemy. As a former Druid, he can also use forbidden arts like Necromancy to temporarily reanimate corpses, though at the cost of degrading the soul. His development is a complete arc, transforming from a compassionate but troubled youth, into a calculating villain corrupted by his own fears and demonic influence, and finally into a penitent healer seeking to repair the chaos he helped create.
