Description
Hauser is a Holy Knight of the Kingdom of Liones who holds the prestigious rank of Platinum, a status just below the highest rank of Diamond. He is a young man of 21 years with a distinctive appearance, characterized by his blonde hair styled into a prominent pompadour and a confident, cheerful demeanor. Standing 182 centimeters tall, he was born a commoner, the son of a blacksmith, a fact that sets him apart from many of his noble-born peers within the knightly order. Despite his modest origins, his natural talent and dedication allowed him to rise through the ranks and become a close friend and rival to the prodigious Gilthunder, having grown up alongside him and Griamore.

In terms of personality, Hauser is defined by his strong sense of justice, optimism, and a straightforward, honest nature. He is presented as a stark contrast to many of the corrupt Holy Knights, as he holds a genuine desire to protect the innocent people of the kingdom. This conviction is so strong that it overrides his loyalty to his superiors when their actions conflict with his moral compass. He is also known for his lighthearted and somewhat naive side, which can make him appear less serious than his friend Gilthunder, but this belies a courageous and determined spirit. A notable and somewhat comedic aspect of his personality is his shyness and awkwardness around women, which is most prominently displayed in the significant crush he develops on the giantess Diane after she effortlessly defeats him in a tournament.

Hauser's motivations are deeply rooted in his personal ideals of knighthood rather than blind obedience to authority. He is motivated to act as a protector of the weak and to uphold true justice. This principle is tested and proves to be his primary driving force when he chooses to rebel against his own faction of Holy Knights. His decision to betray the corrupt leadership alongside Guila is motivated by his outrage at seeing innocents harmed and, notably, by his desire to protect Diane from being used as a tool by the command. His journey is one of a loyal soldier who is forced to recognize the corruption in his ranks and ultimately chooses to fight for his own beliefs, a path that sees him go from a subordinate of the Holy Knights to a key ally of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Within the story's events, Hauser first appears as a formidable participant in the Vaizel Fighting Festival, where his reputation as a powerful combatant is quickly overshadowed by his crushing defeat at the hands of Diane. This encounter is pivotal, as it not only introduces his romantic subplot but also his eventual shift in allegiance. He later plays a critical role during the coup d'état in the Kingdom of Liones. When ordered to capture Diane, he hesitates and ultimately turns against his own comrades, Helbram and the Holy Knights, to help her. In a shocking turn of events, he is severely wounded by Dreyfus, his own mentor, which he survives thanks to Elizabeth's healing magic. This betrayal solidifies his break from the corrupted Holy Knights and sets him on a path to fight alongside the Seven Deadly Sins in the subsequent battles.

His key relationships significantly shape his character arc. His childhood friendship and rivalry with Gilthunder push him to improve his skills, while his deep respect for Dreyfus as a mentor makes the latter's betrayal all the more painful. His unrequited feelings for Diane are a consistent, if lighthearted, source of motivation and courage, as he repeatedly risks his life to protect her. He also forms a strong working relationship with Guila, with whom he shares the experience of defecting from the Holy Knights.

Over the course of the series, Hauser undergoes significant development. He begins as a talented but somewhat boastful knight who enjoys the prestige of his rank and the thrill of battle. He evolves into a true hero, one who understands the heavy responsibilities of his position. After the Holy War and the death of Meliodas, his bravery and inspiring leadership in the face of despair lead to King Bartra appointing him as the Deputy Grand Holy Knight, and he eventually ascends to the rank of Grand Holy Knight of Liones. This development continues into the sequel series, where an older, bearded Hauser is depicted as the weary but steadfast Grand Holy Knight, struggling with the burden of his duties but still possessing the power and resolve to protect the kingdom.

Hauser's notable abilities stem from his magical power known as Tempest, which grants him the ability to freely create and manipulate wind and tornadoes. He is a highly skilled and powerful fighter, with a combat class initially measured at 1,910, which later increases to 2,350, and even surpasses 7,600 in the sequel series. His techniques include the Rising Tornado, a spiraling vortex used to launch and trap opponents; Whirl Shock, a compressed blast of wind; and his most powerful attack, the Super Cyclone, a massive tornado that originates from his own body and can envelop an entire arena. He is also capable of combination attacks, such as the Dragon Castle, executed alongside Gilthunder, which merges lightning and wind for a devastating effect. His fighting style is described as fluid and practical, complementing Gilthunder's more rigid and disciplined approach.
