Description
Aimi Murazumi is a supporting character and a classmate of Nobuaki Kanazawa at Kure Academy. She is portrayed as the best friend of Natsuko Honda, and her character arc is closely tied to this friendship. Initially, Aimi is presented as a shy, introverted, and weak-willed individual who tends to keep to herself and is often on the receiving end of bullying from other students. Her reserved and quiet nature defines her early interactions with others, making her seem like a fragile figure within the class.

As the deadly game imposed by the "King" begins, Aimi’s core motivation becomes the survival of herself and her close friend, Natsuko. Her personality begins to show more complexity under the extreme pressure of the orders. During the order requiring students to break their fingers, she initially hesitates to harm herself to save Natsuko. However, after a forceful reminder from Natsuko about their shared past and how Natsuko helped a younger, shyer Aimi come out of her shell and participate in sports, she finds the resolve to comply and save her friend. This event highlights her deep-seated loyalty and sense of obligation.

In the story, Aimi initially dislikes Nobuaki’s aloof and distant demeanor but grows to appreciate his efforts to save everyone. This change in perspective becomes most evident during the "racing" order, where Nobuaki attempts to carry her to safety. Her role culminates in a significant act of sacrifice. When it becomes clear that either Riona Matsumoto or Nobuaki is destined to die for being farthest from the mountain, Aimi chooses to run backwards, effectively sacrificing herself to save them. This decision marks her final and most crucial action, transforming her from a passive, scared girl into someone who willingly gives her life for others.

Key relationships heavily define Aimi. Her bond with Natsuko is the most important, as it is a source of both strength and obligation. Her relationship with Nobuaki evolves from distrust to gratitude and respect, culminating in her decision to die for him. Aimi does not possess any special physical or intellectual abilities. Her notable trait is her internal strength of loyalty, which manifests as the courage to endure pain and, ultimately, to face death. Her development is a brief but poignant journey from a shy, dependent follower to a decisive individual who takes control of her fate through a selfless act.
