TV-Series
Description
Rin Natsume is the younger sister of Kyousuke Natsume and one of the founding members of the Little Busters, serving as its second member and the sole female among the original five. She exhibits pronounced social difficulties marked by extreme shyness and discomfort around strangers, often retreating into solitude and reacting with near-panic to unfamiliar attempts at friendship. This contrasts sharply with her assertive and fiery demeanor among childhood friends, where she freely expresses herself, frequently using derogatory nicknames like "Trash," "Retard," and "Idiot" for Masato Inohara.

A profound affection for cats defines her; she cares for multiple strays at school, naming each one and allowing them to climb onto her. This bond with cats serves as her primary source of comfort and companionship. Her protective instincts extend beyond animals, leading her to intervene forcefully against bullying or threats to the weak, demonstrating powerful kicks capable of sending opponents flying.

She acts as the pitcher for the Little Busters' baseball team. Initially, her pitching control was notably poor, earning her the title "Godly Lack of Control" from Kyousuke during early practices. Her skills improve through experience, later evolving into the title "An Ordinary No-Con" in the visual novel after completing her initial route.

Her character development is closely tied to her relationship with Riki Naoe, another core Little Busters member. They share a romantic bond as girlfriend and boyfriend, stemming from being the only two survivors of a fatal bus accident that claimed their friends. Following this trauma, particularly during Refrain, Rin experiences significant emotional breakdown, requiring Riki's support for recovery. Kyousuke intentionally delegates tasks involving their cat, Lemmon, to foster her independence, a strategy later revealed by Riki.

Mysterious messages delivered by cats propel her into missions requiring social interaction, gradually mitigating her shyness. However, her approach remains blunt and lacking in empathy, often leading to awkward confrontations. She harbors a rivalry with Sasami Sasasegawa, frequently resulting in physical altercations exacerbated by Rin's refusal or inability to recall Sasami's name correctly, instead using approximations like "Sasasasasa Sasami".

Physically, she stands 153 cm tall and weighs 43 kg. She has long dark brown hair typically tied in a ponytail featuring a small yellow bell secured by a white ribbon. Her eyes are depicted as brown with a red shade in the anime and clear red in the visual novel. Cat motifs symbolize her character, manifesting in catlike behaviors such as hissing and, in the visual novel, occasional sprouting of cat ears and a tail.

In the crossover series *Kaginado*, she appears alongside other Key franchise characters in a chibi-style format, maintaining her core traits of loving cats and expressing herself bluntly, though her role within this specific series is limited.
