Description
Kamanosuke Yuri is a character known for his striking and contradictory nature, initially appearing as a primary antagonist before becoming an ally. He is a nineteen-year-old man who serves as a member of the Sanada Ten Braves, where he takes on the role of representing the element of wind.

Physically, Kamanosuke possesses a notably delicate and feminine appearance that frequently leads others to mistake his gender, a point he consistently and assertively corrects. He has pale skin, long dark magenta hair typically tied in a ponytail, and prominent green eyes. A distinctive green tattoo is located near his left eye, which serves as a limiter placed on him during his childhood to suppress his latent abilities. He is often seen wearing a hood and is characterized by having animal-like ears, specifically dog ears.

In terms of personality, Kamanosuke is initially presented as cruel, hedonistic, and bloodthirsty. He finds immense pleasure in combat and the sight of blood, displaying both sadistic and masochistic tendencies. He is a loud individual who speaks in rough language and has a tendency to get lost in his own pace, often becoming oblivious to his surroundings. Official guides describe him as having a blood fetish, and his hobby is said to be stalking the ninja Saizo Kirigakure. He finds the arguments between other ninjas, Sasuke and Saizo, to be childish and tiresome, refusing to take part in them.

Kamanosuke’s background is largely undefined. His earliest memories are of being raised by mountain bandits, and little is known of his life before that, though the tattoo he possesses hints at a hidden history. Before joining the Sanada forces, he leads a band of brigands who ambush travelers by using deception. His method involves disguising himself as an injured woman to lure kind-hearted travelers onto a suspension bridge, where his group then robs them.

His role in the story begins when he traps Saizo Kirigakure, the protagonist Isanami, and the warrior Kakei Juzo. During the encounter, he captures Isanami and battles Saizo, culminating in a fight where Kamanosuke is defeated. After his loss, he passionately requests to be killed by Saizo, but Isanami intervenes and spares his life. This act of mercy marks a crucial turning point for Kamanosuke, leading him to abandon his life of banditry. He reappears later to rescue Saizo during a fight with Hattori Hanzo, declaring that Saizo is his exclusive toy whom no one else is allowed to play with. From this point, he joins the group and formally pledges his service to the warlord Sanada Yukimura.

Key relationships are central to his development. His obsessive fixation on Saizo is the primary driver of his actions, evolving from a desire to fight and kill him to a possessive and protective loyalty. His behavior around Saizo is often described as tsundere-like, combining aggressive demands for combat with flustered reactions and romantic undertones. This relationship shifts from adversarial obsession to something resembling loyal companionship, though it retains a unique, combative edge.

Notable abilities include his mastery of the kusarigama, a sickle attached to a chain with a weighted end. In addition to his skill with this weapon, Kamanosuke can manipulate the wind to enhance his attacks. This allows him to bind opponents with wind currents or project cutting whirlwinds at his enemies. His signature technique is called the Great Whirlwind, which channels destructive wind energy through his kusarigama.
