Description
Megumi Meguro is one of the two main protagonists of the anime and a student at Tokyo Metropolitan Miyake Girls High School on Miyake Island. Her family runs an inn called Mitsuwa on the island, and she is their only daughter.

In the world of motorcycle sidecar racing, Megumi serves as the passenger, or "sidecarist," a role that requires her to use her body weight and acrobatic skills to manage the machine's balance through corners. This position complements the driver's control of the accelerator and brakes.

Megumi has a bright, cheerful, and boyish personality, which stands in stark contrast to her partner, who is more girlish and cool-headed. She is characterized as impulsive and driven by excellent intuition and outstanding reflexes rather than careful planning. Her approach to life reflects this impulsiveness; she has a strong dislike for studying and little interest in cooking, much preferring to eat.

A central aspect of Megumi's character is her relationship with her racing partner. Although they often clash and butt heads due to their opposing natures, they are able to put aside their differences on the track, where their skills complement each other perfectly to form a competitive team. This partnership is complicated by a shared romantic infatuation with their former coach, which serves as a primary source of motivation and rivalry between the two girls. Their desire to win races is directly linked to a personal goal of confessing their feelings to him.

Throughout the story, Megumi's journey focuses on navigating this complex dynamic. The rivalry over their coach puts a significant strain on her friendship with her partner, and much of the narrative tension comes from watching them struggle to balance their personal feelings with their need to work together as a team. Her impulsive and headstrong nature often drives these conflicts, but it is also a key component of her ability as a passenger. Megumi's notable abilities are all tied to her physical talent and instincts, including her acrobatic maneuvering, quick reflexes, and a natural feel for the kinetic demands of sidecar racing.
