Aimi Tanaka is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with the agency 81 Produce. She was born in Tokyo on April 28, 1992. Tanaka began her career after being recommended to a training school by a family friend, having remembered a childhood aspiration to become a voice actor. She enrolled in 81 Produce's affiliated training school, 81 ACTOR'S STUDIO, where she studied under veteran voice actor Ryusei Nakao. She made her debut in 2013, and her first leading role came in 2014 with the anime Wasimo.

Her breakthrough role was in 2015 as the lead character Umaru Doma in Himouto! Umaru-chan. For this performance, she won the Best Rookie Actress Award at the 10th Seiyu Awards in 2016. This role also led her to form the voice actor unit "Imouto S" with her co-stars.

Tanaka has built an extensive filmography across anime, video games, and other media, demonstrating a versatility that ranges from cute and wholesome characters to young boys. In 2019, Tanaka made her solo singing debut with the mini-album Cobalt under the Wave Master label. She is noted to be close friends with fellow voice actors Rie Takahashi and Arisa Date, who are also affiliated with 81 Produce.
