Description
In the animated series Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Crazybolt is a Decepticon escapee from the prison ship Alchemor. A former drag racer on Cybertron, he was originally incarcerated for a serious offense that involved leveling Steel City, a crime he justified by claiming the city's buildings were obstacles that impeded his movement.
Crazybolt subscribes to a simple and destructive philosophy centered entirely on speed. He believes that nothing should ever slow him down, and any obstacle in his path—whether a building, a natural landscape, or a highway full of civilian vehicles—is an insult that must be removed. This obsession makes him highly reckless and impatient, showing little regard for the safety of others or for the consequences of his actions. He is frequently accompanied by his loyal Mini-Con partner, Slicedice, who shares and encourages his passion for high-speed mayhem.
His role in the story is that of a recurring antagonist for Bumblebee's Autobot team. Upon crashing to Earth, he and Slicedice continue their rampage by burning down various facilities and natural areas, including a forest that offended his sense of open road. He is first pursued by the Autobot Strongarm, whom he outmaneuvers by causing a chaotic highway pileup. He later teams up with the Decepticon Scorponok while waiting for a rendezvous with the pack leader, Steeljaw. However, during this encounter, Bumblebee and Grimlock manage to outwit and overpower him, leading to his recapture and confinement in a new stasis pod.
In terms of notable abilities, Crazybolt transforms from a humanoid robot mode into two alternate forms: a horned lizard-like creature and a monstrous muscle car. His most prominent weapon is his ability to breathe fire, which he uses with enthusiasm to clear away any physical obstructions that stand between him and his need for unrestricted movement.
