A pivotal shift in Aerobolt's character occurs upon a direct encounter with Optimus Prime. Recognizing the legendary Autobot leader, Aerobolt's perspective begins to change, and he finally realizes that the Autobots may be worthy of trust. This admiration for Optimus Prime becomes a key part of his identity, and it is this very sentiment that deems him worthy of protecting Optimus's chest when they link together. His role in the story culminates during a major confrontation with the Decepticon Starscream, who attempted to forcibly merge with the Mini-Cons. After being separated from Starscream, Aerobolt actively sought out Optimus Prime and successfully linked with him, providing a critical power-up that allowed the Autobot leader to defeat their powerful enemy.
