Description
Glenys Alna Lalatoya is a dark elf with amethyst skin, green eyes, and white hair typically braided. Her commoner-like appearance features simple clothing and a youthful countenance belying her age. She presents as carefree, kind, and compassionate, masking her formidable warrior skills. A playful manipulative side surfaces when teasing her daughter Ariane about Arc or convincing Arc to adopt the Lalatoya surname for transport to the southern continent.
Previously an accomplished swordswoman, Glenys settled into marriage with Dillan Tahg Lalatoya. Her father is Fangas Flan Maple, an elder of the elven capital Maple. She trained her eldest daughter Eevin Glenys Maple into the Great Canada Forest’s strongest warrior and similarly trained Ariane from childhood.
In Light Novel Volume 02, Glenys and Dillan meet Arc after Ariane brings him to Lalatoya village. Glenys learns of Arc’s skeletal condition and agrees to secrecy. She chaperones him through the village, then defeats him effortlessly in a spar despite his strength and magic. Recognizing his technical deficiency, she offers swordsmanship training. During this period, she grows fond of Arc’s cooking and spirit animal Ponta, declaring him a permanent guest if he brings Ponta during visits.
Glenys demonstrates combat prowess defending Doran village, single-handedly holding an entire flank against monsters after Arc teleports her there. Her fighting style balances speed, strength, and tactical precision to overpower multiple foes. Later, she trains Arc, Ariane, and Chiyome together, providing combat guidance while criticizing Ariane’s "ill-mannered" kicking techniques.
Her relationships reflect multifaceted depth: she adores husband Dillan but worries about his increased travels post-Arc’s arrival. As a mother, she blends affection with sternness, with Ariane notably terrified of her harsh training. Glenys deeply respects Arc for protecting Ariane and lacking elven prejudice. She bonds closely with Chiyome, treating her as family and inviting her for meals, and shares a friendly rapport with Ponta.
Glenys is 245 years old, though she humorously claims ages of 100 or 170 on different occasions.
