Description
Akira Saitou serves as the coach for the Shiratorizawa Academy volleyball team, where he works alongside the head coach, Tanji Washijou. In this role, he is responsible for guiding and supporting the players of the powerful Shiratorizawa volleyball club, helping the team to grow stronger and maintain its competitive edge. He is depicted as a figure who is generally calm and supportive of the team.

One of the key moments that highlights Saitou's perspective occurs during the Spring High Tournament finals. As he watched Shouyou Hinata play, Saitou was on the verge of calling the Karasuno first-year just like the legendary Little Giant. Before he could finish his thought, he was interrupted by Head Coach Washijou. This incident suggests that Saitou recognizes potential and talent in players who may not fit the traditional mold of a volleyball player, placing him in slight contrast to his head coach's more rigid philosophy.

A notable and unfortunate event in Saitou's experience is his attendance at the Miyagi First-Year Select Training Camp. On the day before the final practice session of the camp, he ate oysters and subsequently suffered from food poisoning. Because of this illness, Saitou was forced to miss the very last day of the training camp. This incident, while a piece of bad luck, demonstrates that even a coach can face unforeseen obstacles.
