Description
Chad Chadan is a former Human Debris and a key member of the private military company Tekkadan. He originally belonged to the Third Group of the Chryse Guard Security, where he worked as a pilot of a mobile worker. When the children of the Third Group staged a mutiny and formed Tekkadan, Chad was given the freedom to leave but chose to stay and fight alongside his comrades.
Chad is known for his cool-headed and reliable personality. He possesses a strong sense of responsibility, and his good character makes him highly trusted by the other members of Tekkadan. While not always on the front lines, he is deeply caring and is visibly distressed by the loss of his comrades. He has undergone the Alaya-Vijnana surgical procedure, which grants him enhanced spatial awareness and a higher information transfer rate when piloting machinery.
Initially serving as a mobile worker pilot and later as a copilot on the Tekkadan spaceship Isaribi, Chad’s primary role often involves logistics and coordination. However, his responsibilities and skills grow significantly over time. He eventually learns to pilot a mobile suit, and his piloting abilities are noted to have improved considerably following his time on Earth. Upon returning to Mars, he pilots a UGY-R41 Landman Rodi.
During Tekkadan's mission on Earth, Chad is assigned as a manager in the organization's Earth branch and acts as a military advisor to Arbrau. In this role, he is tasked with protecting the Prime Minister of Arbrau, Togonosuke Makanai. When a bomb hidden in a flower pot detonates in Makanai’s room, Chad’s quick actions save the politician’s life, though both are rendered comatose by the blast. This incident has significant political ramifications. After recovering, Chad returns to the main Tekkadan force on Mars.
Chad maintains close relationships with many of his fellow former Human Debris, including Dante and Akihiro. He is present when the ancient Mobile Armor Hashmal is accidentally reactivated in a half-metal mine. During the subsequent battle, Chad demonstrates both his tactical mind and his courage. When Iok Kujan’s reckless actions cause the Hashmal to change course, Chad engages the machine. In a critical moment, he abandons his own firearm to catch the falling, pilotless Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City. He then successfully uses his Hammer Chopper to draw the Hashmal’s attention, diverting it away from a civilian agricultural facility and back toward the planned ambush point. His ability to identify Hashmal’s weapon as a beam weapon also provides vital intelligence to his allies.
Following the final battle and the dissolution of Tekkadan, Chad survives the conflict and continues to work alongside other former members. He lives under a new identity and becomes an assistant to Kudelia Aina Bernstein, the president of the Mars Union.
