Description
Midori Kishibe is a supporting character in the anime The Great Passage, introduced during the later stages of the story. She is a young woman who works in the Dictionary Editorial Department at the publishing company Genbu Publishing, having been transferred from the Northern Black Editorial Team, which is part of the company's fashion magazine division. When she first arrives at the dictionary department, Mitsuya Majime has already become the chief editor. Initially, Kishibe struggles to adjust to her new work environment, as the meticulous, long-term process of dictionary compilation is a stark contrast to the faster-paced world of fashion magazines. Over time, with guidance and support from her colleague Masashi Nishioka, she gradually adapts and finds her footing. She becomes increasingly engaged with the work, contributing to the completion and publication of the dictionary The Great Passage. Kishibe is characterized by a practical and earnest approach to her duties, and her journey involves developing a deeper appreciation for language and the painstaking effort required to define and compile words. Her key relationships include Nishioka, who helps her navigate the department, and Majime, whose dedication to the project becomes a source of inspiration. Through her involvement, Kishibe comes to take pride in her contributions to the dictionary and gains a sense of fulfillment in her role.
