Description
Mio Kunosato is a third-year high school student at Hekiho Academy who rarely attends classes and is almost always seen wearing a lab coat. She is a neuroscientist affiliated with the American Viktor Chondria university and has come to Shibuya to research Chaos Child Syndrome, a condition related to delusions and psychic phenomena. Beyond her research, she has a secret objective to track down members of the Committee of 300, a shadowy organization involved in the events of the story. During the chaos surrounding the return of the New Generation Madness murder cases, she works temporarily at an office called Freesia as an information broker, assisting Shinjo Takeshi and Momo Katsuko in their investigations. Her personality is sharp, temperamental, and direct; she is known for her blunt manner and high intelligence, often speaking with a no-nonsense attitude. She has a perfectionistic streak and holds herself to strict standards. Despite her youth, she is already an expert in the field of gigalomania, the ability to manifest delusions into reality. Her background includes a childhood that led to her becoming a protégé of Makise Kurisu, a renowned neuroscientist from the same universe. This mentorship is explored in a prequel story that follows her development from a young girl to a competent scientist. Her key relationships are primarily professional: she collaborates with the journalist Shinjo Takeshi and the police-affiliated Momo Katsuko, and she maintains a respectful but distant connection to Kurisu’s legacy. Throughout the narrative, she retains a pragmatic and goal-oriented demeanor, often prioritizing scientific understanding and strategic goals over personal bonds. Her notable abilities lie in her deep knowledge of neuroscience and gigalomania, making her one of the few people who truly understands the supernatural elements at play. She is also skilled at deduction and analysis, which she applies to the investigation even when others dismiss her methods.
