TV-Series
Description
Caesar is the leader of the Wolf Gang, a band of outlaws who live in the forest outside the main town. He is not affiliated with any of the established mafia families and resents being told what to do by others, which is a primary reason he chose to live on the fringes of society. His group is less an organized criminal syndicate and more a collection of individuals who, like him, refused to submit to mafia rule and gathered for mutual survival.
Caesar has a distinctive and wild appearance. He has messy white hair that reaches nearly to his shoulders and sharp golden eyes with thin, animal-like pupils. His expression is often one of annoyance or cockiness. He typically wears a long white jacket with teal and brown accents over a dark blue shirt left open in the middle, along with dark pants and purple cuffs on his forearms. He wields two swords and has no qualms about using them to hurt others.
In terms of personality, Caesar is initially presented as cruel, cunning, and persistently determined to capture the protagonist, Fuka. He is very prideful, considering himself stronger than others and is quick to challenge opponents to duels. Despite his threatening exterior, a deeper exploration of his character reveals significant layers to his personality. He is demanding and often bosses around his companion, Soh, particularly when it comes to cooking. While he frequently threatens to eat Fuka, over time this threat becomes less menacing and more of a gruff expression of affection, revealing him to be a character who is often more bark than bite. He has a surprisingly innocent and somewhat childish side; he dislikes vegetables, once raised chickens but could not bring himself to kill them. He is also quite unsociable and lacks basic life skills, to the point where Soh handles all the cooking, cleaning, and income generation for the Wolf Gang, as Caesar would likely starve or live in squalor otherwise.
Caesar's primary motivation and role in the story are initially antagonist-driven, as he is the first person Fuka encounters and immediately declares her his prey. His relentless pursuit of her drives much of the early conflict. However, the reason for this initial hostility is not clearly explained within his own route and is tied to deeper, more complex elements of the overall narrative. As the story progresses, his motivation shifts from capture to a genuine, if awkwardly expressed, desire to connect with and protect Fuka. He seeks to grant her wish, which carries significant, mysterious consequences for his own existence.
Caesar's key relationships are central to his development. His relationship with Fuka begins with him as her predator, but her persistent and fearless visits to him every Sunday, despite the danger, slowly break down his barriers. He becomes confused by her kindness and begins to wait for her visits, eventually developing genuine affection for her. He shows his care in practical ways, such as working at Soh's food stall to earn money to buy materials to make a necklace for Fuka with his own hands. Soh is another crucial figure in Caesar's life. Soh acts as his intermediary with the outside world, his enabler, and his caretaker, running a food stall in town to provide funds and cooking meals for the Wolf Gang. While Caesar bosses him around, their bond is deep and mutually dependent, with Soh often being the one to soften Caesar's rougher edges and facilitate his relationship with Fuka. Caesar also has a notable disdain for the Oz family, referring to its members as "kittens" or "kitties".
Caesar undergoes significant development throughout his story. He transforms from a solitary, menacing outlaw who trusts no one into a more caring, if still grumpy, individual capable of deep affection and even self-sacrifice. In a pivotal moment, when he falls under the control of the character Hamelin's magical pipe, he nearly kills Fuka but instead turns his blade on himself to prevent her from being harmed. He is also severely wounded by a berserk Caramia and remains unconscious for several days. After recovering, he persistently tries to visit Fuka, often getting chased off by the protective members of the Oz family. By the end of his route, he can achieve a position of recognition, being granted the title of a mafia boss and taking control of the slums as official Wolfgang territory, where he is often seen patrolling.
Caesar's notable abilities are almost entirely combat-focused. He is a highly skilled and cunning fighter who wields dual blades with deadly proficiency. His pride in his strength is considerable, and he frequently challenges others to prove his dominance. However, his straightforward and impulsive nature is a notable weakness; he tends to rely on brute force and direct attacks rather than strategy, making his actions predictable to more cunning opponents like Kyrie. Furthermore, his feral and impulsive nature makes him highly susceptible to the controlling melody of Hamelin's pipe, which can rob him of his will and turn him into a mindless attacker.
