Daru Dayu is a member of the band Tsurezure Naru Ayatsuri Mugenan, where she serves as the drummer and also performs vocal duties. She is a female character of the Myuumon race, which is a type of Maneki-neko or beckoning cat, and stands 140 centimeters tall. Her background is steeped in mystery, as she is described as a mysterious drummer who continues her journey while hidden inside a Daruma doll. It is widely rumored that this Daruma is only a temporary vessel and that her true form is concealed within it. She met her future bandmates, A and Un, during their performances while she was traveling, and believing their encounter to be destined, she formed the band Tsurezure Naru Ayatsuri Mugenan. Due to her advanced age and great skill, she is regarded as their master, and they often address her with great respect.
In her most recognizable form within the anime, Daru Dayu is a small, white cat girl with long purple hair styled into two spiral buns adorned with gold ornaments.
