Description
Mythos is the main antagonist of the anime series Active Raid Second and the mysterious leader of the hacker group known as Logos. His real name is Tomohisa. His background is marked by a traumatic childhood: as a young boy, he was a member of a cult, and his parents led the group in a mass suicide. The infamy of this incident caused his sister to move abroad, but he was not allowed to follow her. Feeling trapped and failed by the society around him, he founded Logos with the goal of bending Japan to his own will.
In terms of personality, Mythos appears calm and collected in nearly every situation and is usually seen smiling. He is highly intelligent and shown to be a formidable hacker, with skills that surprise even experienced operatives like Rin and Madoka. He is self-proclaimed as the enemy of Unit 8, the police division that serves as the series' protagonists.
Mythos's primary motivation is to provoke chaos. He achieves this by providing advanced powered armor suits known as Willwears to unstable or desperate individuals, using them as pawns to create disorder and challenge the existing social order. His role in the story is that of the main antagonist, orchestrating events from the shadows and directly opposing Unit 8's efforts to maintain public safety.
Key relationships include his adversarial dynamic with Unit 8, particularly with members such as Takeru Kuroki, who seeks to rehabilitate him. In the second season, there is an episode titled Mythos, Once More in which Kuroki attempts to allow Mythos to contribute positively to society by helping solve a mystery involving an unmanned bike, indicating a potential for development or redemption.
Notable abilities include advanced hacking skills, strategic manipulation, and access to Willwear technology, which he distributes to further his plans. He is also connected to the character Liko, an artificial intelligence he designed to hijack computers across Japan, though he later restores her normal function after his surrender to authorities. His development involves a shift from pure antagonism to a more nuanced position, as he eventually surrenders and is given opportunities to work with rather than against society.
