Description
Nina Drango is a seventeen-year-old bounty hunter who arrives in the Royal Capital of Anatae seeking to make a living. She belongs to a race of dragon-folk, a fact that sets her apart in the human-dominated city. Her most prominent physical traits are her short, asymmetrical pink hair and vermilion eyes. Nina possesses the unique and involuntary ability to transform into a massive red dragon, a power that triggers whenever she becomes flustered or attracted to a handsome young man. This transformation is something she fears deeply, as it can cause unintended chaos. Her personality is defined by a cheerful, optimistic, and happy-go-lucky nature, which endears her to the citizens of the capital and often stands in stark contrast to the serious conflicts unfolding around her. Despite her fearsome dragon form and her strength as a bounty hunter, she is naive and purehearted, easily flustered by romantic situations. Nina's primary motivation is to establish a stable life for herself through bounty hunting, but her role in the story quickly expands far beyond that. She becomes a pivotal figure in the escalating conflict between humans, gods, and demons, caught in the middle of a power struggle she never anticipated. Her key relationships shape her journey: she views Favaro Leone as her mentor and teacher in bounty hunting; she develops a complex and strained romantic interest in Charioce XVII, unaware at first that he is the tyrannical King of Anatae; and she forms a bond with the fallen angel Azazel, who seeks to use her dragon powers for his revolution. Throughout the series, Nina evolves from a carefree, impulsive girl struggling to control her abilities into a more mature and decisive individual forced to reconcile her affection for Charioce with the moral weight of his brutal rule. Her notable abilities include her formidable physical strength, her combat and tracking skills as a bounty hunter, and her dragon transformation, which grants her immense size, flight, and destructive power. The central challenge of her story is learning to master this transformation and to navigate her own heart amid the chaos of a world at war.
