Description
Aleksandra I. Pokryshkin, often called Sasha by her friends, is a witch from Orussia and serves as the combat commander of the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, holding the rank of Captain. Born on March 6, she is 16 years old during the events of late 1944. Recognized as Orussia's top flying ace, her background is deeply rooted in mechanics and engineering. Her father was a mechanical technician, and because she was exposed to machinery from a very young age, her own mechanical and maintenance skills are considered top-notch. This early familiarity with technology led to a well-known passion for mechanical devices.

In terms of personality, Aleksandra is structured, pragmatic, and sometimes a perfectionist. She holds herself and her comrades to high standards, a trait that makes her an effective commander but can occasionally cause friction with more impulsive teammates. Her demeanor acts as a foil to the carelessness or wilder antics of some of her fellow witches. Despite her serious and often strict exterior, she is deeply committed to the well-being of her unit and its members.

Her primary motivations stem from a sense of duty and a desire for tactical and operational excellence. She is highly enthusiastic about sharing information and tactics between different combat units, believing that coordination and knowledge are key to victory. Her personal achievements in battle, combined with her ability to systematize tactics learned during the difficult evacuations of Karlsland and Orussia into a formal textbook, have made her a highly valued combat instructor. This textbook is noted for being easy for newcomers to understand and was widely adopted within the Orussian military.

Within the story of the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, Aleksandra serves a crucial leadership role. The unit is tasked with the difficult mission of recapturing territories in Karlsland and serving as a frontline defense for the rest of Europe. The fighting spirit of the witches under her command is vigorous, which leads to an extremely high consumption and attrition rate for their striker units. This creates a significant logistical headache for Aleksandra, as she is often responsible for the repair and maintenance of the equipment, made even more challenging by chronic shortages. Her role requires her to balance frontline combat with meticulous engineering and resource management.

Aleksandra has several key relationships within the unit. She shares a particularly close bond with Nikka Edvardine Katajainen, for whom she often acts as a caretaker. Nikka's tendency to cause frequent damage to her striker unit is a constant source of extra repair work for Aleksandra, but this recurring dynamic has brought them closer together. Her structured personality often clashes with the carelessness of Nikka and the hijinks of other members like Krupinski, highlighting her role as the disciplined core of the team.

Her character development is shown through her evolution from a technically-minded individual and solo ace into a mature leader and combat instructor. She channels her experiences from major military campaigns into a structured framework that can be taught to others, demonstrating her ability to translate personal skill into collective strength. Her constant efforts to manage the logistical strain on her unit, primarily through her mechanical expertise, reinforce her identity as the dependable, if often overworked, backbone of the 502nd.

Aleksandra possesses a notable inherent magical ability known as Image Memorization. This power allows her to perfectly recall any information she observes while actively using her magic, ranging from complex technical schematics to mundane past experiences. This ability surpasses normal photographic memory in depth and precision, making it indispensable for both strategic planning and, more practically, for studying and repairing complex machinery like striker units. Her familiarity with various types of equipment, partly enabled by this magic, allows her to learn and operate different models of striker units with ease. She typically flies a repainted brown MiG-60 striker unit and later uses a MiG i-225 prototype. Her weapons include a DP28 light machine gun and a PTRS-1941 anti-tank rifle, and her familiar is a polar bear.
