Description
Aria Kurenaino is a young woman who operates a black magic agency known as the Crimson Mansion, located in Harmonica Alley across from Kichijoji Station. She offers services to curse other people, with three different tiers of curses available for purchase at varying prices. The curses require a sample of the target's hair and extensive personal information about them, which Aria states increases the chances of the curse succeeding.

In terms of appearance, Aria has long brown hair with bangs that fall above her eyes. She dresses in Gothic-style clothing, typically wearing a red and black dress with a red coat or shawl trimmed in white fur, along with a red choker and black platform shoes. Her demeanor is notably cold and she speaks as if she were a noblewoman, rarely displaying any visible emotions.

The background of Aria Kurenaino reveals that her real name is Ria Minase. She lived with her older brother, Takaharu Minase, after the death of their parents. When Ria was fourteen years old, she suddenly collapsed from hyperventilation, and her twenty-four year old brother underwent a living kidney transplant to save her. Although the surgery was successful, her brother died shortly afterward due to a medical error. Unable to accept his death, Ria brought his corpse home and lived alongside it for an entire year, believing he was still alive. It was only when she was fifteen that an aunt came to her home and revealed that her brother had died a year earlier, at which point Ria realized that the figure she had been living with was actually a mummy.

Upon this devastating realization, Ria Minase attempted to commit suicide by throwing herself in front of a train. At that moment, a disembodied soul who identified himself as a devil appeared and stopped her. This entity was actually Kiryu Kusakabe, one of the nine main characters, who was in an out-of-body state. Ria made a contract with this devil, and after this encounter, she changed her name to Aria Kurenaino and opened her black magic agency, the Crimson Mansion. The devil she contracted with is the one who actually carries out the curses on her behalf.

Throughout the story, Aria maintains a professional distance from her clients but becomes connected to the other central characters as various supernatural events unfold. Her motivations are rooted in her tragic past and her continuing relationship with the devil she contracted, which provides her with a purpose and a connection to the occult world that claimed her brother. Her development reveals that despite her cold exterior and the dark nature of her work, she was deeply traumatized by the loss of her brother and her subsequent denial of his death, which shaped her entire adult identity.
