TV-Series
Description
Asuna Kizaki is a high school student who also works as an agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a role that brings her to the town of Kichijoji to investigate a series of bizarre deaths. Her most defining trait is a form of psychometry, a paranormal ability that allows her to touch an object or a person and instantly see past events associated with them. To avoid being overwhelmed by unwanted sensory information, she typically wears gloves to prevent accidental contact with surfaces that could trigger this power. The local police and others refer to her ability as a form of fortune-telling, but it is distinctly different from genuine precognition.

Asuna is driven by a personal mission. She is a close acquaintance of Shun Moritsuka, a detective who is killed while investigating the same case she takes on. Her primary motivation is to solve the mystery surrounding his death and bring those responsible to justice, effectively seeking to avenge him. Her feelings for Shun are more than platonic, as she harbors a noticeable and unspoken romantic affection for him that is easily perceived by others.

Her role in the story is that of an investigator. She arrives after Shun has already been killed, taking over his leads and using her unique ability to gather evidence from crime scenes and objects connected to the victims. This includes reading memories from Shun’s belongings and even his own body to understand what happened during the incident that killed him and over fifty other people. During her investigation, she forms a crucial partnership with Yuuta Gamon, the protagonist of the series who exists as a disembodied spirit that she can see and interact with. Their alliance is built on an exchange: she receives information from Yuuta in exchange for granting an interview to his occult blog.

Throughout the story, Asuna demonstrates a determined and capable nature, but her powers come at a physical cost. Repeatedly using her psychometry to read traumatic memories causes her significant strain, leading to visible symptoms like coughing and chest pain. Her development involves learning to navigate a world where the living and the dead intersect, ultimately contributing key information that helps the main cast unravel the central conspiracy. After the climax of the events, she is present with the revived main characters, where her close associate Shun teases her with her nickname, "Asuna-nyan".
