Description
Minamoto no Kurō-Hōgan Yoshitsune is a historical samurai commander and a drifter summoned to a strange fantasy world. In his original life, he was the ninth son of Minamoto no Yoshitomo and a key military leader for the Minamoto clan during the Genpei War, known for employing unconventional and ruthless tactics to achieve victory. After his death, he is brought to the new world by the mysterious figure Murasaki, where he aligns himself not with the other drifters but with the Ends, the antagonistic force serving the Black King. He is given considerable freedom by the Black King, allowed to fight whenever and against whomever he chooses, and he operates with a playful yet menacing demeanor. His personality is complex: he appears self-confident, assertive, and enjoys the thrill of battle, often displaying a mischievous or even sadistic side. He can be charming and even playful at times, but he is also calculating and pragmatic, showing little regard for conventional honor. His motivations are somewhat ambiguous; he does not seem driven by a grand ideology but rather by a sense of personal amusement and a desire to test his skills against worthy opponents. He is a former commander of Nasu no Yoichi, who despises him for the dishonorable methods he used during the war, creating a strained and unresolved dynamic between them in the new world. Yoshitsune serves as a wild card in the conflict, an unpredictable figure who fights for the Ends but follows his own whims. He uses his knowledge of warfare and his legendary swordsmanship, which is enhanced by his supernatural agility, allowing him to perform feats such as leaping onto an opponent's blade. His development is marked by his detached enjoyment of the chaos around him rather than any clear arc of change, remaining a consistently ambiguous and dangerous presence throughout the story.
