Description
Koharun is a twenty-six-year-old graduate student specializing in folklore studies. Her research brought her to the legend of Nanakimura, but she struggled to find concrete information on the location until she received a mysterious email that contained the details she needed. This led her to join the bus tour organized for the trip to the village, carrying with her a significant amount of research on the local songs and legends. It is later revealed that she has a personal connection to the village beyond her academic interest, as she is the daughter of a researcher known as the Professor, and she undertook the journey partly to help him find answers related to the village's supernatural phenomena.

Koharun presents herself as cheerful, bright, and curious. She is highly analytical and approaches the mysteries of the village with a methodical and strategic mindset, often relying on her extensive knowledge of folklore. She is thoughtful and cares deeply for the well-being of the group, particularly a fellow participant named Valkana, for whom she shows clear concern. Despite her confident exterior, she harbors insecurities and worries about how others perceive her. This vulnerability emerges as the group's situation becomes more perilous, revealing a cautious and suspicious side, particularly when she begins to doubt the intentions of another character named Masaki.

Her primary motivation is academic, driven by a deep curiosity about folklore and the specific mysteries of Nanakimura. However, this professional interest is deeply intertwined with a personal mission. Her connection to the Professor, her father, reveals a familial motivation as she tries to uncover the truth of the village to assist him.

Koharun acts as a deuteragonist within the group of thirty strangers. She serves as a guide and an informal source of knowledge, using her understanding of the village's lore to interpret the strange events that occur. She often acts as a voice of logic and reason, attempting to ground the group when they are overwhelmed by fear and superstition. Her expertise makes her a vital asset for the group's survival. She forms a significant partnership with the protagonist, Valkana. Their relationship is built on mutual trust and suspicion; she confides in him about her doubts, and they work together to uncover the truth. Her relationship with her father, the Professor, is the emotional core of her personal storyline, defining her deeper reason for being in the village. She also has a wary and investigative dynamic with Masaki.

Koharun begins her journey as a confident and knowledgeable researcher, taking a leading role in guiding the group. As the series progresses, the constant psychological pressure of the village and the revelation of her connection to the Professor expose her vulnerabilities. She evolves from a purely analytical outsider to an emotionally invested individual whose personal stakes are directly tied to the village's mysteries. Her primary ability is her profound knowledge of folklore, local legends, and the specific songs tied to Nanakimura. This knowledge allows her to interpret clues and solve puzzles that leave other characters baffled. She possesses strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, often being the one to piece together the fragmented information the group uncovers.
