She is often described as a strict and even terrifying teacher, but this cool and serious attitude is precisely why others hold her in high regard. Beneath this exterior, she is very kind, caring, and wise, acting as a guide and protector for her students as they face their challenges, giving them all the support they need to overcome their obstacles. Prior to becoming a teacher, Aoi was a famous and elite skywalker who stood at the very top of the Flying Circus world, even having competed in world tournaments. Her retirement from the sport is directly linked to Masaya Hinata. She quit because he did, feeling a deep sense of guilt that she had been unable to figure out or help him with the trauma that caused him to give up flying. She then took on the role of a health and physical education teacher at Kunahama Academy, becoming the homeroom teacher for Masaya and the advisor for the school's FC club.
