Description
Lux Arcadia is the main protagonist of Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle. He is the former seventh prince of the Old Arcadia Empire, which was overthrown in a rebellion five years before the story begins. Known by the nicknames the Weakest Undefeated and the Black Hero, he is a Drag-Knight who pilots the legendary Divine Drag-Ride Bahamut.

Born as the illegitimate son of Emperor Diseld Arcadia, Lux spent much of his early life in seclusion, caring for his younger sister Airi. His mother died when he was ten after a carriage accident, an event that filled him with bitterness until the persistent kindness of his childhood friend Philuffy Aingram helped him let go of his hatred. By age twelve, he had become the youngest Drag-Knight in history, but he received little recognition due to his low status and outspoken opposition to the empire’s policies. During the rebellion, he secretly joined the uprising to save Philuffy from human experimentation. After the empire fell, his memory was altered by his older brother Fugil, creating the false legend that Lux single‑handedly defeated 1,200 imperial Drag‑Knights. He and Airi were then pardoned but burdened with a massive debt, forcing Lux to work as a handyman.

Lux possesses a kind and compassionate personality, always willing to help others and guided by a strong moral code. He tries to avoid killing even his enemies, a philosophy that earns him the trust and respect of many characters. Despite his gentle nature, he can become calm, calculating, and even aggressive in battle when provoked. He is shy and easily flustered around girls his age, a trait that becomes complicated when he becomes the only male student at the Royal Officer Academy. His primary motivation is to protect those he cares about, especially his sister and the people of the New Kingdom, and to create a world where girls like Philuffy can live in peace. Over the course of the series, he transitions from a passive survivor burdened by his past to a proactive leader who uses his power to safeguard the kingdom.

As a Drag‑Knight, Lux pilots the Divine Drag‑Ride Bahamut, which possesses the Divine Attire Reload Fire, a technique that compresses time to unleash powerful attacks but also drains the machine’s energy rapidly, limiting its operational time. To compensate for this weakness, Lux developed the Quick Draw technique, a mastery of control that allows him to move with perfect efficiency. His fighting style emphasizes defense and evasion, making him seemingly unbeatable in practice matches and earning him the title Weakest Undefeated. In actual combat, he uses precise timing and a single decisive strike to end fights.

Lux’s key relationships include Lisesharte Atismata, the princess of the New Kingdom, who initially distrusts him but later becomes his primary ally and romantic partner. He shares a deep bond with his childhood friend Philuffy Aingram, who is loyal to him despite the trauma of her past experiments. Krulcifer Einfolk, a calm and intelligent Drag‑Knight from a northern nation, develops genuine feelings for him after he helps her break free from political manipulation. Celistia Ralgris, initially prejudiced against men, grows to respect and love him after he demonstrates his true character. Yoruka Kirihime, a former assassin, views him as her master and king, eventually becoming a loyal protector. His younger sister Airi Arcadia serves as his emotional anchor and supports him with her knowledge of ancient technology. His older brother Fugil Arcadia is the primary antagonist, a nihilistic figure who manipulated events in an attempt to test humanity’s potential.

Throughout the story, Lux develops by reconciling his identity as both a prince of the old world and a hero of the new one, ultimately becoming the king of a unified kingdom. At the conclusion of the series, he enters a polygamous engagement with Lisesharte, Krulcifer, Philuffy, Celistia, and Yoruka, a political decision that unites the major factions of the world and ensures lasting peace.
