TV-Series
Description
Hijiri Minowa is a student at Okanoue Girls' High School and a member of the school's motorcycle club. She is the heir to the immensely wealthy Minowa Group, a powerful conglomerate. Her life of privilege includes having a personal butler named Hayakawa, and in the past, she would even commute to school by helicopter. Her wealth is also displayed through a casual ability to acquire expensive motorcycles, such as her Italian-made Ducati.

Hijiri is characterized by a distinct contrast between her desire to be a rebellious delinquent and her inherently kind and proper nature. After watching the film "Rebel Without a Cause," she became enamored with the idea of becoming a "bad girl" and believed joining the motorcycle club would achieve this. She takes an innocent and enthusiastic delight in thinking of herself as a delinquent, a notion the other club members gently indulge. Her efforts to steer the club toward more rebellious activities are often undercut by her own good-heartedness; she is typically a polite and sweet young lady, but her sheltered upbringing can make her unintentionally snobbish or naive about everyday life. When frustrated or when things do not go her way, she can have sudden, explosive outbursts of extreme behavior, such as becoming uncharacteristically violent.

Hijiri's primary motivation in the story is to experience the life of a delinquent and to become a motorcyclist. Despite her wealth, her age initially prevents her from obtaining a license, as her birthday falls on December 23, later in the school year. Before she turns sixteen, she participates in club activities by riding in a sidecar attached to a Ducati 750SS Imola Replica driven by her loyal and highly skilled butler, Hayakawa. Her first significant action in the club is to propose a game of chicken, which her butler commits to with such seriousness that he drives the bike and sidecar into a river, an event that only solidifies Hijiri's belief that she has become a true delinquent.

Her key relationship is with her butler, Hayakawa, who acts as both her chauffeur and a paternal figure, dutifully following her reckless whims without question while also offering her advice. She is an integral member of the motorcycle club, forming close bonds with her fellow members Hane Sakura, Onsa Amano, Rin Suzunoki, and the silent senior Raimu Kawasaki. Her wealth often provides solutions to the club's problems, such as when she equips their helmets with communication headsets.

Hijiri undergoes notable development as she progresses from a passive passenger to an independent rider. Upon turning sixteen, she obtains a moped license and begins learning to ride a humble Honda Super Cub 50, a bike she initially scoffs at as a "worker's bike". Her learning process is comically difficult, as she cannot even ride a bicycle, leading to numerous crashes. In a fit of frustration, she once attacked the bike with a sledgehammer, only to be amazed when it started up despite the damage. This durability inspires her to repair the Super Cub, resulting in a Mad Max-style machine adorned with a cattle skull and training wheels. By the end of the series, she advances to riding her own customized Ducati 1199 Panigale S, tuned down to comply with Japanese regulations for minors.

A notable and humorous aspect of her ability is that, due to a loophole in Japanese law, she legally possesses every possible driver's license available in the country but does not actually know how to operate any of those vehicles, including a bicycle, at the start of the series.
