Naoko Serizawa is a first-year student at Shimizu Minami High School and a member of the school's Woodwind Club. She originally aspired to become a professional clarinetist, but a severe hearing impairment forced her to abandon that dream. Naoko has completely lost hearing in her left ear and has significant hearing loss in her right ear. Despite this setback, she is determined to continue playing the clarinet and eventually rejoins the club. She has short dull green hair with square bangs, blue eyes, and rectangular glasses. Her personality is quiet and serious, marked by a deep passion for music that she struggles to reconcile with her disability. Her key relationships are with the other members of the Woodwind Club, including Haruta Kamijo and Chika Homura, who support her in her journey. Over the course of the story, Naoko develops greater confidence in her abilities and learns to adapt her playing technique to work around her hearing loss. Her notable ability is her skill as a clarinetist, which she refines despite her auditory challenges.
