Description
Yūto Goryō, a first-year literature student, leads the band Argonavis as its guitarist. Hailing from a prestigious Hakodate family—his father a professor and brothers doctors and lawyers—he chose music over their path, driven by an inferiority complex and a desire to earn their recognition.
Naturally enthusiastic and passionate, Yūto operates with a strong mentality and positive outlook, guided by the motto "You won't know unless you try." This fuels his leadership, often manifesting as baseless confidence. Despite this outward optimism, he harbors deep-seated doubts about his guitar skills, which once nearly led him to quit Argonavis, believing his perceived inadequacies hindered the band and another guitarist would serve it better.
During high school, he was in a band with Nayuta Asahi that disbanded due to Nayuta's dictatorial attitude and their conflicting values. This experience left Yūto holding a grudge, causing him to initially refuse an opportunity for Argonavis to open for Nayuta's band GYROAXIA. Upon entering university, he co-founded Argonavis with Wataru Matoba for a fresh musical start.
Yūto addresses all Argonavis members by their first names, a habit extended even upon first meeting vocalist Ren Nanahoshi. When the band relocated to Tokyo for the LIVE ROYAL FESTIVAL, he proactively coordinated logistics and maintained morale. He expressed visible concern when Ren unexpectedly hesitated about performing, highlighting his investment in the band's collective commitment.
His name combines "yū" (結, "tie/fasten") and "to" (人, "people"), while "Goryō" comprises "go" (五, "five") and "ryō" (稜, "angle/edge").
