Description
Chamille Kitra Katvarnmaninik is the third princess of the Katvarna Empire and a key figure in the story. At the age of three, she was sent to the neighboring Republic of Kioka as a political hostage, a situation that lasted until she was eleven years old. This formative experience allowed her to witness the stark contrast between the two nations, leading her to a deep and bitter understanding of her own empire's corruption and decay.

In terms of appearance, Chamille is a young girl with a delicate and youthful look. She has long, hip-length blonde hair with distinct square bangs covering her forehead and strands framing her face, complemented by her yellow eyes. Despite her youth, her personality is complex and heavily marked by her past. She is highly skilled at deception, capable of playing the part of a proper royal while internally harboring a profound resentment for her own bloodline. She curses the Emperor and the nobility, holding a strong desire to see the current system destroyed so that it might be rebuilt anew.

Her motivations are driven entirely by this resentment. Rather than seeking to preserve or reform the empire from within, Chamille wishes to facilitate its downfall. She sees the empire as being in an irreversible decline and believes that tearing it down is the only path forward. To achieve this goal, she seeks out the help of the genius tactician Ikta Solork. Chamille understands that Ikta is exceptionally intelligent and hides his capabilities behind a facade of extreme laziness. She attempts to enlist him in a plot to intentionally lose a war, believing his strategic mind could orchestrate a devastating defeat for the empire.

Chamille's role in the narrative begins when she is rescued from drowning by Ikta after the ship they were both on was caught in a fierce storm. Following this event, she is among the group of protagonists who are stranded behind enemy lines and subsequently earn the title of Imperial Knight. Her primary function evolves from the initially rescued princess to a strategic partner and eventual co-conspirator for Ikta, representing a person who wishes to leverage his abilities against the state that honors him.

Her key relationships are central to her development. She holds Yatorishino Igsem, or Yatori, in high regard as a hero who helped save her life, seeing her as a strong and dependable individual. However, this admiration eventually turns into a rivalry, as both Chamille and Yatori develop romantic feelings for Ikta, making them love rivals. Her relationship with Ikta is the most important. Initially finding him an enigma, she comes to understand his true lineage and respects him not only for his intelligence but also for his outspoken nature. A strong romantic attraction grows, though it is complicated by their age difference and the nature of Ikta's existing bond with Yatori. As the story progresses, her actions become more openly affectionate, and she is portrayed as his accomplice and a shared fate with him, in contrast to Yatori being his soulmate.

Chamille undergoes significant transformation over the course of the story. Early on, she operates as a schemer from the shadows. Later, following a series of events that include the death of the Emperor, she ascends to the throne, becoming the first Empress of the Katvarna Empire in 180 years. She is later referred to by the nickname the Destruction Empress. As the ruler, she adopts a reign of terror, executing rebels in brutal fashion to quell the constant uprisings and purge the corruption she despises. In this new role, she maintains a close, though complicated, relationship with a broken and detached Ikta, who she keeps in the imperial palace. She confides in him and seeks comfort, revealing her vulnerable side despite her tyrannical public persona.

In terms of notable abilities, Chamille possesses an intellect that is nothing short of genius. She is capable of memorizing and reproducing vast amounts of data with perfect recall, such as detailed rainfall figures from a specific region spanning the past 82 years. This extraordinary mental capacity allows her to comprehend and appreciate the full scope of Ikta's strategic genius. Her true power, however, lies not in physical combat but in her political cunning, her skill at deception, and her ability to formulate long-term plans for the complete upheaval of a nation.
