Description
Curaçao is a fictional character created for the 20th film in the series, serving as a high-ranking operative within the Black Organization. She holds the position of a trusted aide to Rum, the organization's second-in-command, and is entrusted with critical missions that require both exceptional skill and loyalty.

Physically, Curaçao is notable for her silver hair, often styled in a low ponytail, and her striking heterochromia, a condition where her irises are different colors. Her left eye is a vivid blue, while her right eye is an almost transparent silver-blue, a feature she typically conceals with a colored contact lens while on duty. Her standard attire consists of a dark blue, uniform-like jacket and skirt, a white blouse, and a ribbon at the collar, giving her a sharp and professional appearance.

Her most defining characteristic is a unique mnemonic ability, which is linked to a form of synesthesia. She can memorize vast amounts of information with perfect recall by associating data with specific shades of color. This skill is facilitated by a set of five colored cards—white, orange, blue, green, and red—which act as a key or trigger for her memory. This ability makes her an invaluable asset for intelligence gathering, as demonstrated when she successfully infiltrates the National Police Agency to retrieve a classified list of undercover agents. However, this same power once marked her as a liability, as her brain had recorded information that was inconvenient for the organization. She was scheduled for execution by a fellow operative until Rum intervened, recognizing the value of her abilities and claiming them for his own purposes.

In addition to her cognitive gifts, Curaçao possesses extraordinary physical prowess. She is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, capable of fighting on par with highly skilled agents during her escape from police custody. Her agility is almost superhuman; she can leap from a multi-story building, using flagpoles and other structures to break her fall, and perform complex acrobatic feats while wearing high heels. She is also a highly proficient driver, able to engage in a high-speed pursuit and drive in reverse to evade capture by two of the series' most capable operatives. Her marksmanship is equally impressive, as she can hit a dartboard's bullseye three times in a row without difficulty.

In the story, Curaçao's role is initially that of an antagonist. After her escape from the police goes awry and her vehicle is forced off the road, she is severely injured and washes up at a public aquarium, having lost all her memories due to the trauma. In this vulnerable state, she encounters the Junior Detective League, a group of young children. Initially confused and without her past identity, she forms a bond with them, particularly when she instinctively saves one of the boys from a dangerous fall. Her interactions with the children reveal a gentle and caring side to her nature, one that is protective and deeply moved by their kindness and innocence.

Her key relationships are defined by two opposing worlds. On one side, her connection to the Black Organization is defined by utility and control. Her superiors value her only for her skills, and she works alongside other operatives who are aware of her loyalty to Rum. She also uncovers the true identities of several high-profile undercover agents, including Bourbon and Kir, which puts them in mortal danger. On the other side, her bond with the Junior Detective League becomes the catalyst for her change. Through them, she also meets Conan Edokawa and the former organization scientist Sherry, now known as Ai Haibara. Curaçao deduces Haibara's true identity but chooses to protect her secret rather than report it, showing the beginning of her internal shift.

This development culminates in her ultimate betrayal of the organization. After seeing the five colored lights of the aquarium's Ferris wheel, her memory is fully restored, along with all her training and allegiances. However, upon seeing a small dolphin keychain given to her by the children, she is overcome by the authentic emotional connection she has formed. She makes a decisive choice to reject her past life and defect, even though she knows the organization will show her no mercy. In the film's climax, she sacrifices her life to save the children and countless bystanders by using a large crane to block a collapsing Ferris wheel, an act of altruism that redeems her character.
