Description
Mayura Otomi is a supporting character in Twin Star Exorcists. She is the daughter of Yukari Otomi and Seigen Amawaka, and the maternal granddaughter of Zenkichi Otomi. She grows up as Rokuro Enmado's childhood friend and classmate, and she is also acquainted with Ryougo Nagitsuji. After the Hiinatsuki tragedy, she stays by Rokuro's side during his isolation and tries to look out for him, aware of the trauma he carries. She harbors romantic feelings for Rokuro, though he remains unaware of them for a long time and regards her as a sibling.
When she learns that Rokuro and Benio Adashino are fated to marry and produce a child as the prophesied Twin Star Exorcists, Mayura initially seems to accept the situation. However, after she is turned into a Fallen Angel and is rescued by Rokuro and Benio, witnessing their synchronized combat and growing strength, she resolves to become an exorcist herself rather than give up on her feelings without trying. This decision marks her major character shift from a passive onlooker to an active participant in the story. She trains under her father Seigen, who later bestows upon her the White Tiger armor, granting her formal exorcist capabilities. Over time, her admiration for Benio evolves into a genuine friendship, and she becomes a close ally to both members of the Twin Star pair.
Mayura eventually becomes the tenth head of the Amawaka House, taking the name Mayura Amawaka, and ascends to the rank of Byakko among the Twelve Guardians, an elite group of exorcists. In her role as the new head of the family, she faces considerable pressure and trains intensively for the Imperial Tournament, working alongside Shimon Ikaruga, one of the Twelve Heavenly Generals who wields Suzaku. Her notable ability is her use of the White Tiger armor inherited from her father, which grants her enhanced combat prowess as she develops her skills as a guardian-class exorcist. Her personal journey is defined by her determination to stand on equal footing with those she cares about, her growth from a civilian into a capable fighter, and her eventual acceptance of her responsibilities within the Amawaka lineage.
