Luin Lee, later known by the alias Mask, is a cadet at the Capital Guard Academy who holds the top rank in his class and serves as the head of Bellri Zenam's class. This sense of inferiority and resentment drives him to discard his original identity and adopt the masked persona of Mask after transferring to the Capital Army. As Mask, he becomes an officer with the rank of lieutenant and pilots advanced mobile suits, including the Elf Bullock and a customized Mack Knife ace pilot unit, and later a pitch-black Phenex in the space around Towasanga, where he confronts Bellri and Aida Surugan. His motivations are rooted in a fierce desire to prove the worth of the Kuntala people and to secure a place for them in the new world order, leading him to ally with the G-IT Corps during the escalating conflicts. Despite his outward confidence and ambition, his actions are driven by a deep-seated jealousy and distrust of those from more privileged bloodlines. In the short film Gundam Reconguista in G: From the Past to the Future, Mask pilots the black Phenex mobile suit during a sudden assault on Bellri and Aida while they scout near Towasanga, showcasing his exceptional combat skills and relentless pursuit of his goals. His role in the story is that of a rival and antagonist who challenges the protagonists both ideologically and physically, and his character develops from a promising cadet into a masked warrior willing to sacrifice his former self for the sake of his people. He maintains a key romantic relationship with Manny Ambassada, who remains an important figure in his life even after his transformation.
