Description
Akari Hizamaru is a young Japanese martial artist and a central figure in the Annex I mission to Mars. He is twenty years old, stands 177 centimeters tall, and weighs between 91 and 96 kilograms while on duty. He has brown eyes and short brown hair, with a birthday of August 2nd and blood type O. His hobbies include illustration and reading, and he dislikes cockroaches. Akari was born with a unique genetic inheritance as the son of Nanao Akita, which gave him a naturally dense muscle build and high compatibility for the M.O. Operation. He was trained in an old form of Jiu-Jitsu at a dojo run by the director of the orphanage where he grew up, and he later fought in an underground fighting ring in Bangkok, Thailand. During a match against a bear, the trauma triggered an early, uncontrolled partial transformation. The death of his childhood friend, Yuriko Minamoto, from the A.E. virus drove Akari to join the Annex I project to Mars in search of a cure. He was recruited by Shokichi Komachi, whom he initially attacked in rage but agreed to follow upon learning of the mission’s goal. Akari is cheerful and good-hearted, valuing friendship and honor deeply while caring for his comrades, especially his commanding officer Michelle K. Davis. Though straightforward and sometimes comical, he is a formidable warrior and a sharp strategist, having saved Michelle’s life. Emotional distress can trigger a wild, uncontrollable transformation where he loses himself until calmed or rendered unconscious. His primary abilities come from the M.O. Operation, granting him the traits of the Japanese Bagworm Moth, Eumeta japonica. This allows him to produce incredibly thin, flexible, and strong silk threads that are nearly invisible and cannot be broken by Terraformars. He uses these threads creatively in combat, such as weaving them into a bulletproof vest. Akari is also an experienced swordsman from the Hizamaru Divine Eye School, wielding a sword named Hizamaru. Over time, his abilities evolved further: on Mars, extreme stress awakened latent Orchid Mantis DNA, manifesting as a clawed arm and serrated threads. After returning to Earth, he underwent the C.B. Operation, gaining an Over-Metamorphosis ability that lets him absorb and integrate the M.O. traits of others, forming a powerful chimera-like state with enhanced combat versatility.
