Tonio is a traveling salesman who befriends William during his journey and accompanies him, along with Meneldor and Robina Goodfellow, toward the city of Whitesails. After the wyvern attack and William’s reward from Prince Ethelbald, Tonio assists in preparing for the campaign into the Beast Woods by procuring livestock and supplies. He demonstrates economic pragmatism, advising on cost-effective strategies such as acquiring sick or injured animals at reduced prices—knowing William can heal them with his benediction. Tonio also helps arrange trade routes between Whitesails and the Beast Woods, anticipating mutual benefit. He serves as a reliable and practical supporter, managing the logistical and economic dimensions of William’s missions.
