TV-Series
Description
Ashe R. Sakuragi is a main character and a second-year student at Ousui Academy, where she serves as the vice president of the student council. She is the daughter of a world-renowned pianist mother and a former violinist father, both of whom are currently traveling the world, leaving Ashe to live alone in the family's spacious apartment. Coming from a wealthy and musically gifted family, she was a national winner of a piano competition, but her mother told her she had no talent for playing the instrument. Following her father's advice, she shifted her focus to becoming a music composer, a goal she now pursues seriously.
Personality-wise, Ashe is characterized by a serious, strict, and diligent nature. She has a strong sense of justice and a deep-seated hatred for anything crooked, perverse, or wrongful. This makes her initially hostile toward the protagonist, Kouki Narumi, whom she often suspects of being a pervert. She is a classic tsundere archetype, meaning she is often not honest with her true feelings and can be easily embarrassed, though she becomes less guarded when in a good mood. One of her most notable traits is an enormous appetite; she is a glutton who can consume large quantities of food, particularly favoring common, working-class dishes like rice bowls. Ironically, despite her affluent upbringing, eating high-class French food or expensive ingredients like melon tends to upset her stomach.
Her primary motivation is to succeed as a composer. She believes that to grow her talent, she needs a broad range of life experiences, which is the reason she joined the student council on her father's advice. In her role as vice president, she is highly competitive and detests losing, which fuels her secret rivalry with Kouki. While her grades are at the top of her year for almost every subject, she is consistently beaten by Kouki in Japanese language studies, a fact that secretly drives her to see him as her rival. Her role in the story is primarily as a fellow student council member who initially opposes Kouki's inclusion but gradually comes to recognize his abilities and sincerity.
Her most significant relationship is with Kouki Narumi. She views him as a rival and is often at odds with him, but she also comes to respect his work as a manga author. During her personal story route, she and Kouki grow closer as he supports her musical ambitions and helps her gain confidence. She also holds a strong admiration and respect for the student council president, Kaoruko Rokuonji.
Throughout the narrative, Ashe experiences notable development. She is portrayed as the heroine who undergoes the most significant change, particularly in her own story route where the central conflict directly involves her talent and efforts as a musician. Her development involves overcoming her impatience with her own abilities and learning to appreciate her unique path as a composer, moving beyond her initial insecurities about not being a performing pianist like her mother. Her notable ability is her musical talent, specifically her skill in playing the piano and her burgeoning capability as a music composer.
