She was initially affiliated with Pro-Fit but left the agency on April 1, 2016, to work as a freelancer before joining her current agency, S Inc., in March 2017. In 2017, she also formally changed the kanji of her stage name from 桜川めぐ to 櫻川めぐ, though the pronunciation remained the same.

Sakuragawa made her debut as a singer in 2008 while still a student, performing the opening theme song Tsumasaki Movin'on! for the PlayStation Portable game A Promise of the Azure Sky. Her major label debut came on July 25, 2012, with the single Brave Blade!, which was used as the opening theme for the anime series Campione!.

This role involves not only voice acting but also playing the drums and singing at live performances as a member of the real-life band. Her work within this franchise spans the main television series, several spin-offs including BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico and its sequels, and the animated films BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage. She is also recognized for her role as Tsubasa Kira in the Love Live! series, appearing in the television anime and the film Love Live! The School Idol Movie. In addition to her voice acting, Sakuragawa is an accomplished musician. As a core member of Roselia, she has participated in numerous concerts and live events. Her musical contributions with the band were recognized in 2020 when she, along with the other members of Roselia, received the Singing Award at the 14th Annual Seiyu Awards. Beyond her work with the band, she has also released solo music and has been active as a DJ under the name Meguchee. She expands her creative output through other media, such as co-hosting a YouTube channel with fellow voice actress Yuki Nakashima called YukiMeguTV.

Sakuragawa maintains a strong connection to her hometown. In July 2017, she was appointed as the Support Ambassador for Sakuragawa City, and in November 2019, she was named an Ibaraki Prefectural Ambassador. In these roles, she has contributed to local promotion, including recording announcements for city buses and creating content for local landmarks. She also shares her industry experience as a lecturer for the voice acting course at Heisei Music University, a position she began in April 2023.
