Description
Ai Kitora is a fifteen-year-old A-rank combatant and close-range All-Rounder serving as the ace of Border’s Arashiyama Squad. She achieved elite status while still in middle school, a testament to her talent and dedication. Standing 162 centimeters tall and born on June 26, she attends Seirin Girls’ Academy. Kitora has short black hair and violet eyes; in combat she wears a red high-collared athletic jacket with black-and-white striped sleeves and black leggings. Her background includes a prodigious start, scoring 3,600 points on her enlistment day and holding the fourth-best recorded time for defeating the Colossal Neighbor simulation at nine seconds. She initially rose through the ranks as a Gunner but adapted her fighting style due to low trion levels, incorporating the Scorpion trigger to compensate. Her primary triggers include Asteroid for ranged attacks and a customized Scorpion with two blades. She is also a master of the Spider optional trigger, firing it from a custom gun with a reel-in function to use as a grappling hook, set wire traps, and create three-dimensional footholds for high-speed mobility. One unique technique she developed is the Leg Blade, covering her foot and leg with Scorpion to deliver cutting kicks. Her low trion level makes her Shield more fragile than those of other agents, a weakness she compensates for with skill and tactics. Kitora often comes across as arrogant and self-assured, strictly enforcing Border’s regulations and openly criticizing rule-breaking. She is prone to jealousy, resenting Osamu Mikumo for receiving mentorship from Kyosuke Karasuma, for whom she has a crush. She craves respect from superiors and younger agents, reacting visibly when treated coldly by someone like Futaba Kuroe. Despite this, she possesses a strong sense of fairness, refusing to take credit for others’ actions and insisting on proper protocols. Underneath her harsh exterior lies a kind and humble side, and she is genuinely ready to help those in need. She initially dismisses Osamu but gradually recognizes his sincere and humble nature, becoming a key mentor who trains him to use the Spider trigger. Her role in the story includes serving as a rival and unexpected mentor to Osamu, clashing with Yuma Kuga, and showing deep respect for her captain, Jun Arashiyama. Key moments include confronting an Ilgar alone, severing her own leg to defeat a Rabbit-type Trion soldier, and volunteering for high-difficulty assignments during the Away Mission Test. She values self-discipline, enjoys spicy food, and her name means “indigo wooden tiger.”
