TV-Series
Description
Ema Yuzuru is a B-rank sniper and a member of Kageura Unit in the Border organization. He is a young combatant of fourteen years of age, born on December 9th, and stands at 156 centimeters tall with O type blood. Visually, he has light brown, medium-length hair that often falls over his green eyes, giving him a quiet and somewhat aloof appearance.

In terms of personality, Ema is generally reserved, laid-back, and often comes across as indifferent or blunt, sometimes making remarks that are unintentionally rude. Despite this casual demeanor, he harbors strong convictions. He is deeply loyal to his former mentor, Mirai Hatohara, whose departure from Border has left a significant mark on him. Ema holds her skills in very high regard and has since refused to acknowledge anyone else as his teacher, even rejecting the tutelage of top sniper Isami Tōma. This incident also fostered a deep distaste for Border's management and specifically the members of Ninomiya Unit, whom he blames for her situation. When displeased, he does not hesitate to speak his mind, and he opposes the prevalent mentality that an agent who cannot shoot others is useless, a belief rooted in his admiration for Hatohara.

Ema is driven by a strong protective instinct, which becomes a central motivation as the story progresses. He develops a noticeable crush on Chika Amatori, a younger sniper with immense trion but a reluctance to harm others. Recognizing a painful similarity between Chika and his mentor Hatohara, who was ostracized for her own inability to shoot people, Ema becomes determined to prevent Chika from suffering the same fate. This leads him to take a direct interest in Chika's development; he teaches her the Lead Bullet technique combined with the Lightning sniper rifle to allow her to contribute offensively without directly injuring opponents. His desire to protect her eventually overrides his initial disinterest in away missions, pushing him to seriously aim for a spot on the expedition team to guard her himself.

Ema's role in the story is primarily as a supporting character and occasional rival. As a member of the high-ranking Kageura Unit, he is a prominent obstacle for the protagonist team, Tamakoma Second, during the B-rank wars. His relationships within his own team are relaxed, though he sometimes irritates his captain, Masato Kageura, with his casual attitude. Teammate Hikari Nire, who recruited him, often teases him like an older sister. He also forms a bond with fellow sniper Izuho Natsume, the two often training together alongside Chika. Throughout the B-rank battles, Ema shows significant development, shifting from a largely unmotivated fighter who slacks off during training to a more serious and dedicated combatant once he commits to joining the away mission.

Notably, Ema is an extraordinarily gifted sniper, recognized as holding the top score among all middle school-aged agents in Border. His talent is such that he can afford to be lackadaisical during joint practice while still maintaining high performance. He is described as a natural, intuitive sniper with incredible accuracy and unwavering focus. His skill is demonstrated through feats such as creating a star-shaped pattern by shooting a moving target sixty times in a row and landing precise shots through walls using the high-powered Ibis rifle. His tactical awareness is also sharp; he can assess when to use the Egret rifle for precision versus the Ibis for power, even fighting at mid-range against gunners when necessary. His trigger set includes Egret, Ibis, Bagworm for stealth, and Shield for defense.
